Lens-Artists Challenge #312 – Sense of Scale

At the time of posting this, I acknowledge that I am wayyyyy late to the party, but as usual work and life got in the way, and I unintentionally abandoned my drafts. At the time that this challenge was happening, I had accumulated so many pictures of my dad and his obsession with large trees. I thought they would be fitting for the occasion.

Since 2020, we’ve spent a great deal of time in nature and visiting various parks, beaches and nature trails. During these visits, there was always a tree that he simply couldn’t resist and would ask me to take a picture of him either hugging said tree or standing next to it. Keep in mind he is 6’1 and probably around 200lbs or maybe less, I’m not sure (sorry dad lol).

Here are some examples of him being turned into a tiny ant. I always thought it was funny how small he looked in these pictures when compared to the trees. Enjoy!
