Earlier this month, I noticed some kind of light display while I was driving home on the highway. Based on the location, I figured it might have been a part of Hubbard Park. I’ve only ever visited Hubbard Park once but had a fun day exploring it.
For those of you who don’t know, Hubbard Park is an 1,800-acre park located in Meriden, Connecticut. I’d recommend clicking here to learn more about the park and its history.
As soon as I got home, I did a quick google search to see if there were any holiday festivities and surprise surprise. It turned out that there’s an annual silver lights festival that takes place in Hubbard Park from around Thanksgiving until right after New Year’s.

I decided that I wanted to check it out. I saw that the park is opened typically from 8am-10pm. Since it would be a light show, I figured it was best I go after dark to get the full effect.
At first, we drove in and followed the procession around the park. It was such a beautiful sight. All of the pretty lights and decorations. The pictures and videos that I took really doesn’t do it justice.

We ended up driving around 3 times but before leaving, we stopped at a different parking lot which had a tiny house. It looked so cute almost like a little gingerbread house. Before even getting out of the car, I noticed a little girl running up to the mailbox and putting in a letter. When I walked over and saw it up close, I realized it was a mailbox dedicated to letters for Santa. How cute!

Of course, after my usual photoshoot session, I wanted to check out this house. Upon further inspection, I saw that it was a display house and was fully decorated with Christmas goodness. They also had Mr. & Mrs. Claus dancing for us at the window.
I left the park filled with the warmth of the holiday season. I’d definitely say that this is something everyone should experience if they can, especially since you don’t even have to leave the warmth of your car to experience the show.
