Just before the gates closed for the season, I finally made the drive up to Castle Craig — a first for me, and one that exceeded every expectation. The road up was lined with late-season colors, the kind of quiet beauty that makes you slow down and take it all in.

When I reached the top, the view was absolutely stunning — rolling hills, and the soft glow of autumn sunlight stretching as far as I could see. It’s the kind of view that no photo or video can truly capture. You have to be there, standing in the wind, letting the stillness and scale of it all sink in.

If you’re in Connecticut, make sure to catch Castle Craig before the gates close each year. It’s a moment and a view that will stay with you long after you leave. 🌄
