A First Visit to Yantic Falls

Last August, I finally had the chance to visit Yantic Falls in Norwich, Connecticut, and it did not disappoint! Known as Indian Leap, this beautiful spot has both natural charm and a bit of local history.

The Yantic River drops dramatically over a rocky ledge, creating a stunning waterfall with a 40ft drop that has long been a gathering place for visitors and locals alike.

The area around the falls has walking paths, bridges, and scenic overlooks that make it perfect for exploring with a camera in hand. I especially loved the mix of peaceful river views and the sound of rushing water.

One unexpected highlight of my visit? I spotted a bunny hopping around near the falls! What a lovely treat. It was the perfect little surprise that made the afternoon even more memorable. Click here to see the cutie pie.

If you’re ever in Norwich, Yantic Falls is worth a stop—especially on a warm late-summer day. Whether you’re into history, photography, or just enjoying a quiet walk, it’s a gem tucked right into the city.
