Back in mid-August 2022, my dad and I spent a perfect summer day in Mystic, Connecticut. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and the kind of blue sky you only get in August stretched overhead. (It did start to rain a few hours into the trip, but still a beautiful summer day!)

We wandered through Mystic River Park, watching the boats drift by and feeling the breeze off the water. It was one of those slow, easy afternoons where time doesn’t seem to matter. We strolled around town, enjoying the sights and sounds, and eventually treated ourselves to ice cream.

Of course, this was also one of those days where I completely forgot to take a picture of myself. Enjoy my hand holding the ice cream cone and these pictures of my dad eating it lol.

Nonetheless, it’s a memory I’ll always treasure — just a simple day, filled with fun and a little adventure.
