Foodie Friday #4 | Mother’s Day Brunch

Last Mother’s Day, I wanted to make it extra special for my mom by taking her somewhere new. I spent quite some time searching online and also asking around specifically for somewhere close to West Indian cuisine as I know that will always be the preference for my mom whether she likes to admit it or not. I kept coming up empty until my boss overheard me talking about it and mentioned Brasitas. She explained that it was somewhere she has gone many times and also taken her family, and I believe specifically her grandmother who loves Latin American Cuisine.

Brasitas is located in Norwalk, Connecticut. According to their website, Brasitas offers an artistic fusion of Latin dishes originating from Colombia and all of the South, Central, and Caribbean cultures.

The one thing that I remember for sure is how GOOD the food was.

From the moment we walked in, we were immediately pulled into the warm, vibrant atmosphere. The colors, the energy, the aroma—it all felt welcoming, like we had stepped into somewhere both new and familiar. The staff made us feel right at home, and it was one of those rare moments where you just knew you picked the right place.

But the highlight? That was when my mom’s snapper meal arrived at the table.

The look on her face was priceless—a mix of surprise, curiosity, and trying not to laugh too hard. The presentation was bold. We had no idea how it was going to be displayed on the plate. We still laugh about it until this day.

Brasitas gave us more than a great meal that day—it gave us a memory to be cherished for years. ❤
