Practicing Gratitude

Daily writing prompt
What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

Even on the toughest mornings, I find it so helpful to just take a moment to appreciate the things I might often take for granted. A good example would be the fact that I can breathe through my nose today. I never appreciate something so simple until I get sick and congested. I usually spend that time lying awake at night thinking about all of the times I was able to sleep peacefully with my mouth closed.

But on a serious note, I think being present and thankful every day has greatly improved my quality of life. It also helps me spend more time and focus on my loved ones and hobbies instead of worrying about things that I cannot control.

  1. True, being present is so necessary. I used to find it hard being present. But now that I make sure to savour the moments that I can, I notice that I am happier.

    1. Yes, it truly is life changing !
